Cutting Care Guide:

The following tips will help you ensure your Hydrangea Nikko Blue cuttings grow successfully:

  1. Choose healthy stems: Take cuttings in the early morning or late afternoon when the plant is not under stress. Choose a stem that is at least 4-6 inches long and has at least two sets of leaves.
  2. Remove the lower leaves: Remove the lower leaves from the stem, leaving only two sets of leaves at the top.
  3. Dip the cutting in rooting hormone: Dip the bottom of the cutting in rooting hormone to help stimulate root growth.
  4. Plant the cutting: Plant the cutting in a container filled with a well-draining potting mix. Make a hole in the soil with a pencil and gently insert the cutting. Water the soil well.
  5. Cover the container: Cover the container with a plastic bag or a plastic dome to create a mini greenhouse. This will help keep the soil moist and create a humid environment that promotes rooting.
  6. Keep the cutting in a bright but shaded location: Place the container in a bright location, but avoid direct sunlight, which can be too intense for the cutting.
  7. Water regularly: Keep the soil moist, but not too wet. Water the cutting when the top inch of soil feels dry.
  8. Wait for roots to form: After a few weeks, gently tug on the cutting to see if it has rooted. Once roots have formed, you can transplant the cutting into a larger container or into the ground.
