N’Joy vs Pearls & Jade, Are They the Same? | Pothos |

N’Joy vs Pearls and Jade

The Pothos N’Joy and Pothos Pearls and Jade are both popular cultivars of the Epipremnum aureum plant, commonly known as Pothos or Devil’s Ivy. While they share similarities, there are a few key differences between the two:

Leaf Appearance

The most noticeable difference is in the leaf pattern and coloration. Pothos N’Joy typically has heart-shaped leaves with green centers and creamy-white edges, creating a variegated appearance. On the other hand, Pothos Pearls and Jade has small, oval-shaped leaves with a marbled pattern of green, white, and sometimes yellow.

Growth Habit

Pothos N’Joy tends to have a more compact growth habit, with shorter internodes and bushier foliage. It grows relatively slower compared to some other Pothos varieties. Pothos Pearls and Jade, on the other hand, has a more vining growth habit and can grow longer stems with larger leaves. It tends to be a faster grower compared to Pothos N’Joy.

Light Tolerance

Both varieties are generally considered low-light tolerant plants, but Pothos N’Joy is known to be slightly more adaptable to lower light conditions. It can thrive in areas with moderate to bright indirect light. Pothos Pearls and Jade also does well in bright indirect light but may exhibit more vibrant variegation and growth in brighter conditions.

Variegation Stability

The variegation patterns of Pothos N’Joy are usually more stable and consistent compared to Pothos Pearls and Jade. The leaves of Pothos N’Joy tend to maintain their variegation as they mature, whereas Pothos Pearls and Jade leaves may show more variations in variegation as they grow.

Conclusion

Both Pothos N’Joy and Pothos Pearls and Jade are relatively easy to care for and are great choices for beginners. They have similar care requirements, including moderate watering, well-draining soil, and occasional fertilization. With proper care, both varieties can add beauty and greenery to indoor spaces.
